Firmitas. Utilitas. Venustas.

From Ancient Rome to Middleton, Wisconsin.

Two thousand years ago, Vitruvius outlined his ten principles of architecture in the groundbreaking volume De Architectura. More than a simple designer of structures, the architect’s role was elevated to that of artist, thinker and humanist—creating spaces of solidity, commodity, and delight.

Our café started with a foundation of espresso, brewed on an Italian-made La Marzocco machine in the back of founder Hamid Noughani’s architecture office. Next came our café space, designed to bring welcome music, light and gatherings. We rounded out our offerings with loose-leaf tea, local and regional tap beer, and a selection of wines. In the evening, our space transforms into an intimate venue for live music and events.

Our coffee

We’ve partnered with Wonderstate based in Viroqua, Wisconsin, to provide a variety of single-origin roasts for espresso, drip and pour-over.

Our tea

We feature a variety of loose-leaf teas from Sun Prairie-based Chai House, who specialize in Georgian (the country, not the state!) wild-grown and cultivated teas. Our Masala Chai is freshly brewed in-house every day.
